Smith Springs Recreation Area

3060 Smith Springs Road, Antioch, TN 37013

Percy Priest Lake is federally owned, and named after a Tennessee Congressman. It was authorized by the federal Congress in 1946. The lake is 42 miles long, and has 213 miles of shoreline. Surrounding the lake is three campgrounds, eleven recreation areas, twelve boat launch ramps, and six marinas, all of which are federally owned and managed by the U.S Army Corps of Engineers. In the '80's, here was talk of using this recreation area for a campground for the YMCA, but it never came to fruition. Today, here at Smith Springs Recreation Area, there's a giant pavilion that will fit 50 people available for rent at recreation.gov, grills, and plenty of access to the lake for boating, camping, fishing, and swimming.
