Fair Park Dog Park

It’s #FurryFriday ! I had the privilege of puppy sitting, and visited some of the Metro Nashville dog parks around town. For the next few Fridays, I’ll be posting some reviews of these dog parks. Please be advised, as I do not have a dog, what I’m looking for in a dog park may not be what your looking for in a dog park. Generally, I wanna get some steps in on my Fitbit while listening to headphones and let the dog run around so we can have a lazy sleepy afternoon on the couch later that afternoon.

Dog Park Name: Fair Park Dog Park

Address: 300 Raines Ave, 37203

Why choose this dog park? Because of all the Nashville dog parks, this one is the most insta-worthy

Dog Rating: 3 out of 5

Human Rating: 4 out of 5

This dog park is a part of the Nashville Fair Park renovation project, and this dog park opened in 2019. It is smaller than most Nashville dog parks, but has a lot more interactive amenities than any other dog park. It has two sections segmented off- one with obstacle-course-like items to interact with, and one for more passive dogs. Although my doggie ward is very active, he was not up to doing any tricks for me in the obstacle course for the 'gram, much to my disappointment. In particular, the red, doggie shaped bar to jump over scared the heck out of him.

The dog park is also set up with astroturf, so it doesn't get muddy and stays very well maintained. There's a paved path around the perimeter of the dog park for humans to walk around. This particular dog park was one of the busiest ones we've been to, so there were many potential playmates, if that's what you're looking for.
