Elmington Park

This park was originally a part of Edwin Warner’s home estate. It was purchased by the Metro Parks board in 1927. West End School (then a high school, now a middle school, and my alma matter) was built next to the park in 1935. The park itself is 13.04 acres, and has a children’s playground, a soccer field, a disc golf area, a baseball diamond, a tennis court, picnic tables, and an open field of grass.

Because of its central location of West end, its home to many events and has been for years. Movies in the Park has been hosted here for a few years, plus annual golfing events and races. Its parking lot is filled with food trucks on the weekend. Even during a pandemic on a random Sunday, we passed a family reunion, a birthday party, and a large organized soccer game.
