E. S. Rose Park
E. S. Rose Park was founded in 1960. $900,000 was used to build the park, which was named after E. S. Rose, a graduate of Fisk University and a celebrated pastor of St. Paul AME Church. In 2007, Belmont University partnered with Metro Nashville Parks, and invested $6million to renovate the property, in exchange for using the property for practices and competitions, and having preferential use of the park. Today, it sits at 25 acres, with a community center, playground, baseball fields, basketball courts, football field, soccer field, a swimming pool, and a community center. It has with paved walkways around the perimeter of each, and a field dedicated to the Nashville Negro Baseball League. We spent about half an hour here, and walked a half a mile.
