This park has 1.31 acres and was established in 1981. It originally was the home of a pharmacy owned by Dr. Dallas H. Neil, and was given to the state after his death in 1956. It was utilized by the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency, but was transferred to the Park Board in 1981. It was named after Dr. Dallas H. Neil, to commemorate his status as a civic leader in his time.
There is no parking, and no real amenities here. It's just greenery and a couple of benches. At first walkaround, I was disappointed. But frankly, this pocket park is not for me. There is a LOT of shade and greenery here, and is a quiet respite in this busy area, at the crossroads of two busy streets. It serves it's purpose, as existing for the neighborhood, even if not a destination park.
