Booker T. Washington State Park

Updated: Jul 4, 2022

Booker T. Washington is a 353 acre park in Chattanooga. It was built by African American troops of the CCC and was originally built to be used by African Americans, as state parks were segregated at its founding until 1964. It has fishing, birding, boating, picnic shelters, a lodge, an assembly hall, a gift shop, group camping, a swimming pool, and 10 miles of trails- the Inner Loop Trail #1 (2.25 mile loop), the Inner Loop Trail #2 (1.2 mile loop), the Nature Trail (1.1 miles), and the Outer Loop Trail (3.9 mile loop).
